A bronze bust of the center's namesake, George C. Marshall, inside the Building 4200 lobby. I remember Marshall primarily as the Army Chief of Staff during WWII, but he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953 for laying the foundation for rebuilding post-war Europe, which later became known as the Marshall Plan. There's a famous photo of President Eisenhower and Marshall's widow unveiling this bust. | ||||
