Detail of the coil which was welded between the two walls of the thrust chamber. This formed a spiral passage through which fuel travelled from the fuel manifold at the thrust chamber exit plane to the injector at the forward end of the engine; the fuel then provided regenerative cooling to the thrust chamber wall.
