Grissom Air Museum

Grissom Air Museum is located near Peru, Indiana (about an hour and a half north of Indianapolis).

Strictly speaking, it's not named after Gus Grissom; rather, it's named after the nearby Grissom Air Force Base (which is named after Gus, having previously been "Bunker Hill AFB"). The museum has a few paintings and posters of Gus, but it's really mostly about the planes.

There's a small indoor exhibit area, with a larger outdoor area where all the planes are. Google Maps has some good aerial shots of the place.

The Bunker Hill saw a good number of Strategic Air Command planes in its day, and so a lot of the displays are about those planes. I gravitate more towards the World War II planes, so you'll see more of those on these pages than the Cold War planes.
